Ajay Malhotra is a serial entrepreneur with multiple exits and an investor with over 23 years of experience in the business and technology industries.
He has completed multiple degrees including a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Commerce, a second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology in addition to taking courses in Financial Markets at Yale University, and Machine Learning at Stanford University.
Ajay began his career as a Senior Software Engineer, where he worked for clients such as Motorola, G.E., Citibank, Reserve Bank of India, and the Government of Malaysia. After five years, he moved from India to the United States of America, where he worked as a Consulting Software Engineer for clients such as Applied Materials, University of Berkeley, Saratoga Systems, Maximus Group, and Export Import Bank in the San Francisco Bay Area and further within the United States of America.
Presently, Ajay is an active investor with multiple Angel Groups and the founder and managing partner of Canada Startup Company, an integrated venture studio focused on co-creating companies with immigrant and local entrepreneurs.
Under Ajay’s leadership, Canada Startup Company has the mission of combating immigrant unemployment and underemployment in Canada by launching and growing companies with global entrepreneurs and providing high-tech jobs in Canada.
In addition to operating Canada Startup Company, Ajay is a Startup Advisor at MaRS Discovery District marsdd.com, Canada’s largest incubator. With investments in Enterprise Software, fin-tech, algorithmic trading, digital advertising, enterprise software, virtual reality and more, Ajay and his team manage a growth portfolio for the seed stage startups.
